Champions of the Atlantic National Primary Schools District Football tournament will be crowned today at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella, shifting the title match from the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Mucurapo as was previously scheduled.
Taking the field in the opening clash will be Port-of-Spain and Environs Education District and Tobago from 9.30 am in the girls final. Later on at 11 am in the boys final, the Port-of-Spain boys team meets Caroni. Both girls finalists advanced on similar margin of victory in their respective semifinal matches.
Led by Candace Hall Port-of-Spain moved on to the final after edging Caroni 1-0 on Thursday at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium. Tobago eliminated St Patrick to earn a place to battle for the title.
For the boys, Port-of-Spain qualified after stopping East St George 4-2 in extra-time in their semifinal also at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium. This was after both teams were locked at 2-2 at the end of regulation-time.
Caroni progressed following its 4-2 win on penalties over Tobago. The scores remained tied 0-0 at the end of regulation and extra times.
