Charlotteville Methodist won the Windward Zone after a 3-3 draw with Roxborough Anglican in the Milo Tobago Primary School Football League on Monday.
Shaffie McKenzie, Miguel Quashie, Kerri McDonald were on target for Charlotteville in the come-from-behind tie, which saw them drop their first points of the season. Jaiye Sheppard netted a double, while Javier King netted the other goal for Roxborough.
Both teams which are in the quarter finals are level at the top of the group with 13 points. Charlotteville, however, has the superior goal difference, handing them the zonal title.
St Andrews Anglican were also assured qualification for the quarterfinals with a 3-2 win over Hope Anglican.
Shaquille Cox’s hat-trick was the highlight of the match, overshadowing Adrian Collette’s double which was not enough to secure a point for Hope, which are on the brink of elimination.
Scarborough RC won by an easy 3-0 scoreline over Mt St George, which puts them in a position where anything less than a seven goal defeat in their next match against St Andrews, will see them in the last eight.
Leeward B and Northside qualifiers will be decided today. Defending league champions Whim Anglican and cup champions Bon Accord only require a point to secure the Northside and Leeward B zones, respectively.
Whim Anglican will win their fifth consecutive Northside zonal title with a point against Mason Hall Government, which are already into the quarterfinals. The match of the day will be between Bethesda and Signal Hill with the winner moving on to the last eight.
