Fans hoping to attend the May 10 friendly international between Trinidad and Tobago have started receiving notification text messages indicating their eligibility to purchase four tickets for the encounter at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.
Teleios Systems announced on Wednesday that they successfully completed the automated ticket allocation process on April 25th as scheduled. Teleios was contracted by the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation to handle the technology and logistics for the ticket allocation and distribution for the “Soca Warriors” farewell match ahead of their participation in the 2006 World Cup.
The automated draw, which selected mobile numbers from persons who expressed an interest in purchasing tickets for the game, was witnessed by Louis Lee Sing, Chairman of the National Lottery Control Board. Teleios used its Mobility Suite to help manage the ticket allocation, distribution and sale of the tickets.
Teleios also announced that they notified winning participants via SMS of their right to purchase 4 tickets each at specified outlets – Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Centre of Excellence, Macoya and Hasely Crawford Stadium.
Ronald Hinds, Teleios Managing Directed described the process as a successful one. “We are very pleased at the process so far. We are now looking forward to the smooth delivery of tickets at the 3 venues on Saturday. Of course, regrettably, everyone could not get tickets but that would be so for any system. For those who won however, they are assured of getting their tickets on Saturday. Certainly one of the other advantages is that we can communicate directly with all the winners via their bmobile phones, providing them with relevant information leading up to the time of purchase.”
TTFF President Oliver Camps, said that he too was pleased with the progress to date. “While there were some who expressed doubts about the new system, we at the TTFF feel that this system provides the kind of transparency that our fans want. We would therefore want to stress that only persons in possession of phones which received valid winning notifications should present themselves at the venues for the purchase of tickets.”
Telios representative Kevin Khelawan also responded to the question of how persons would in fact know that their feedback message was genuine, saying “Valid messages from the Teleios System for this game would come from a sender number 8833. Any message purporting to be communication that does not come from that number should be viewed as a hoax”
At the collection venues, fans will be required to produce one national photo identification (Drivers permit, ID or Passport), the winning mobile number and the winning mobile phone the notification message
