Pleasantville Secondary eased its way into the final of the South Zone Inter0Col competition in the Shell/ First Citizens Secondary Schools Football League on Thursday evening.
Playing in the second match of a doubleheader at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Pleasantville claimed a huge 11-0 win over Point Fortin East in the semifinals.
The South Zone and Big Five champion will now meet Fyzabad Anglican in the final tomorrow from 3 pm at a venue to be advised. Fyzabad put on a solid performance to eliminate St Joseph Convent San Fernando, 3-0 in the opening match.
The semifinal matches in the North Zone InterCol were closely contested but it was Tranquility and Holy Name Convent earning spots in the final.
Tranquility pulled off an upset win over North Zone league champion Bishop Anstey Port-of-Spain, edging them 2-1 at St Mary's grounds in St Clair while Holy Name narrowly got by Diego Martin Central, 3-2 at St Joseph's Convent ground.
Over in Tobago Zone, Scarborough Secondary and Signal Hill will meet in the final. The former defeated Goodwood Secondary, 3-0 and Tobago league winner Signal Hill beat Bishop’s High, 5-0.
