The Trinidad and Tobago Women's League Football (TT WoLF) launched its 2016 season last Saturday at the CIC Grounds in St. Clair.

The Opening comprised of a parade of teams and a 7 a side Tournament. This year the WoLF has decided to organize its premier Division Teams into a Super League with the likes of 2015 season Champions St. Augustine FC, St. Ann's Rangers, Pt. Fortin Pioneers, perennial powerhouse Real Dimension, newly promoted Petrotrin and Club Sando, and Tobago Chicas will all compete in this top division.

The teams competing in the First Division are Malverne, Trincity Nationals, Central United, St. Ann's Rangers B Team, Waterloo Starlets, Diego Martin and Northern Rush,

The TTFA President, David John-Williams, and Vice President Joanne Salazar were present and did the official inspection of the teams and the President officially opened the league. In his speech, he expressed his gratitude to be there to launch the 2016 season and made special mention and acknowledgement of Mr. Randolph Price, the man responsible for Real Dimension plus 40 year existence, the oldest team in the history of Women's Football since its inception in 1985.

In the days results, Petrotrin claimed top spot in the parade of teams, while Central United placed second and the finals of the 7 a side Tournament went dwn to penalty kicks which saw perennial rivals Trincity Nationals defeat Real Dimension to claim bragging rights and cash prize of $1,500.00.

Matches will begin from this weekend and fixtures will be officially released later this week as teams are still confirming their home venues. Highlights of Super League Matches can be seen on WI Sports.
