St Clair Coaching School created the biggest upset of the Tobago Football Federation FA Trophy competition when it ousted Premier Division high-flyers Bethel United 4-2 on penalty kicks after a 0-0 draw in their round-of-16 encounter at the Plymouth Recreation Ground, Plymouth, on Tuesday night.
With the win, St Clair now faces Hills United, 5-0 winners over Mason Hall PYC in the second match at Plymouth in Saturday’s quarterfinal.
For Hills, Miguel George and Nigel Alexander each scored two goals while Esron Hinds added the other.
In the other quarterfinal carded for Saturday, 1976 Phoenix and Federal Northside FC will face off after narrow round-of-16 victories also on Tuesday.
At Canaan Ground, Bon Accord, Phoenix used items from Dominique Roberts and Nathan Roach to blank Leeds United 2-0 while Glennon Sharpe scored the lone goal for Northside in its 1-0 defeat of Golden Lane FC.
Today in the two remaining round-of-16 matches, Premier Division leaders Roxborough Lakers plays Mt Grace at Goodwood from 5 pm and Signal Hill tackles Charlotteville Unifiers two hours later at the same venue with the winners to meet in Sunday’s last eight.
The other quarterfinal carded for Sunday will feature Youth Stars United and Sidey’s after their round-of-16 wins over Black Rock and Carnbee/Mt Pleasant respectively.
