HARLEM STRIKERS hammered Perseverance Ball Runners 4-1 on Wednesday as the Central Football Association (CFA) Premier League Big Six competition kicked off.
In the first game of a double-header at Woodford Lodge in Chaguanas, ex- Guyana and North East Stars midfielder Carey Harris scored a pair for Harlem, in the 32nd and 39th minutes.
Lynton Jones (28th) and Jared James (57th) contributed one apiece for Harlem, while Kareem Beckles pulled one back for Perseverance in the 35th.
Another Perseverance outfit were on the losing end on Wednesday, with Couva Sports edging KC Perseverance United 2-1.
Karel Greene (second) and Lyndon Bruno (21st) found the back of the net for Couva, while KC Perseverance benefitted from an own goal in the 51st.
On Thursday, the fans who turned up at Woodford Lodge saw a pulsating fixture, with Caroni Samba edging St Mary’s United 4-3.
