Emmanuel JosephJunior Emmanuel Joseph's (Port of Spain, Trinidad) two first half goals gave Radford all it needed in a 2-0 win over Xavier in non-conference men's soccer at Patrick D. Cupp Memorial Stadium on Friday night.

Joseph opened the scoring in the 30th minute for the Highlanders (1-2) when junior Justin Zimmer (Chesapeake, Va.) threaded a pass to him through the Xavier (0-2) defense, creating a one-on-one situation with Musketeer goalkeeper Adam Sokolowski.  Sokolowski played the ball and deflected it back to Joseph, who punched the ball into the empty net.

His second goal came in the 39th minute when sophomore Camden Brown (Knoxville, Tenn.) sent a pass from near the right sideline across the box, and behind the Xavier defense to Joseph, who buried the the shot to make it 2-0.

The contest was marked by five yellow cards, including four for the Musketeers.

Senior goalkeeper Zach Roszel (Warrenton, Va.) made three saves to record his 11th career shutout.

Radford is back in action on Sunday with a 2 p.m. contest at Clemson.
