Trinidad and Tobago U-23 striker Kendall Jagdeosingh has joined Joe Public until the end of the 2007 season following his dismissal from North East Stars this week.
In a release to the TT Pro League, North East Stars said that Jagdeosingh’s contract was terminated because of continued misconduct, a total opposite to the club’s handbook.
Jagdeosingh will now work under his national U-23 coach Michael Mc Comie at the Macoya based club.
Mc Comie told ‘ttproleague.com’, “He(Jagdeosingh) was released by North East Stars and we saw it as a good investment. Kendall is now with us for the rest of the season and we would take this opportunity to see how he adapts with our style. If he fits in well then maybe we can look at something more solid like maybe a two year contract,” said the Joe Public and T&T national U-23 coach.
The Joe public head coach also mentioned that he was in the process of signing a couple more faces with his club over the next week.
Darryl Mahabir owner/manager of North East Stars said that it was time Jagdeosingh had to go.
“It was overbearing with Jagdeosingh. Over the last month he started showing malice and that was unacceptable. We believe it was in our best interest to release him,” said Mahabir.
Jagdeosingh was perhaps Mahabir’s most valuable signing at the beginning of the 2007 season has failed to live up to expectations.
The 22 yearold striker has slumped in standard this season scoring just four goals, in which three came from his hattrick against Tobago United in Round One.
Jagdeosingh is now the third axing by the Sangre Grande based club this season, following the release of defender Dexter Franklyn and goalkeeper Marvin Phillip but Mahabir says he has a couple surprise additions that would make a difference in his team.
North East Stars are currently seventh on the League standings with 30 points while leaders Caledonia AIA are well ahead with 48.
