Westend added yet another title to an already impressive campaign by sealing the Churches Football League Premier Division Big Four title, following a 2-0 victory over GEMS on the weekend.
Jeremiah Headley and Jaron Nurse netted one goal each to put Westend on a perfect nine points from three matches, while Daybreak would settle for a second place finish with a whopping 6-1 win over RLC. Westend added the Big Four title to its successes in the Round Robin and the Premier Division Group B competitions.
In the First Division, Church on the Rock (COTR) rebounded from a draw with La Horquetta to take the Big Four title with a 6-0 demolition of D’Abadie Deliverance Sanctuary FC. Elijah Belgrave was on target with four goals, with Brian Sampson and Kirtson Graham adding to the rout.
CNC helped COTR’s cause by inflicting a 1-0 win over challengers La Horquetta, with Marc Isaac finding the target.
In the playoff match for qualification for the knock out round, Cumoto defeated AME Ball Players 2-1 to secure the final place of the competition, which is scheduled to begin tomorrow (Saturday). Pastor John Auguste and Kevon Blake got the goals from the winning club.
