CLUB SANDO and Malabar FC posted easy victories on Sunday, on Match Day 23 of the Blink/Bmobile National Super League.
Sando brushed aside hosts 1976 FC Phoenix 4-1 at Canaan, Bon Accord while Malabar crushed Westside Superstarz 5-1 at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima.
Sando were rewarded with goals from Jesse Downing (45th minute), Teba McKnight (48th), Kerron Smith (53rd) and Wade Caesar (84th). Dominique Kerr (74th) pulled one back for Phoenix.
And, at Arima, Malabar had goals from five different scorers — Kevon Woodley (14th), Cyrano Glen (27th), Jameel Neptune (42nd), Gorian Highley (88th) and Cordell Samuel (90th). Akil Morris prevented any clean sheet for Malabar, when he replied in the 52nd.
There were a few changes in positions, in the bottom half of the standings. Bethel United swapped places with Siparia Spurs in the standings after edging FC Santa Rosa 1-0 at the Mt Gomery Recreation Ground. Vernon Wilson got the winner for the hosts, in the 76th.
Siparia were held to a goalless draw by Joe Public at the Palo Seco Velodrome but the biggest shocker of the day occurred at the WASA Ground in St Joseph.
Hosts WASA FC, the 2012-2013 winners, moved from the foot of the table (exchanging spots with Santa Rosa) after overcoming sixth-placed Real Maracas 3-2, for only their second win of the season.
WASA held an early 2-0 advantage with items from Dwight Crichlow (10th) and Fabian Garcia (23rd) but Maracas rallied to level the scores courtesy of Dillon Bartholomew (28th) and Jahhan Hernandez (77th).
However WASA received a massive slice of luck as they got the game- winner, through an own goal two minutes from full time.
Games on Match Day 24 will be contested on January 19.
