Devon Drayton, Charles Pollard and Kishun Seecharan were all among the goals as Club Sando continued its march towards the T&T Football Association National Super League crown with a comfortable 3–1 whipping of WASA FC in their “Big-Eight” fixture on Wednesday.
Drayton opened the scoring in the 20th minute while former Guyana captain Charles Pollard handed his team a 2–0 half-time advantage with a 36th minute item at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva.
Six minutes into the second-half, Kareem “Scooby” Freitas pulled a goal back for the “Water Boys” who fought their way for the equaliser up until national Under-20 midfielder Kishun Seecharan dashed their hopes with Club Sando’s third on the stroke of full-time.
The win, the third from as many matches for Club Sando carried it to maximum nine points, three clear of a surging Defence Force which crushed visitors Petrotrin Palo Seco 4–1 at the Youth Training Camp, Macqueripe, Chaguaramas, 3.30 pm.
For the “Teteron Boys” Akil Morris fired in the go-ahead goal as early as the first minute and added a second in the 53rd, while in-form Ronald “Sharky” St Louis (8th) and Christopher Durity (67th) got one each before Corey Cyrus netted a 92nd minute consolation item.
At the Guaya Recreation Ground, the hosts were stunned 2–1 by 1976 Phoenix FC, while the match between Siparia Spurs and La Horquetta SA at Fyzbad did not come off.
