Carlos Hughes scored a goal in each as Guaya United whipped Police FC 3-1 to continue on its path to the CNG Super League Premier Division title at St James Barracks Ground, Long Circular on Sunday.
The win lifted Guaya United to 50 points from 21 matches on the 15-team table, two more than Defence Force which has played a match more. At a distant third is Tobago Phoenix 1976 with 40 points.
At the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella, Defence Force got a 90th minute goal from Michael Edwards to edge host Marabella Family Crisis Centre 1-0 while Tobago Phoenix 1976 spanked La Horquetta SA 4-0 led by two goals from Onasi Forde in the 28th and 36th. The Premier Division will now take a break until January 7, 2016.
