Michael-Lee Celestine scored a second-half double as former winners’ WASA turned on the pressure with a 4-0 win over Club Sando Giants for a third straight success in this year’s bmobile National Super League yesterday.

Glen Walker, formerly of M&M Harvard opened the scoring in the 28th minute at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella before Darin Lewis made it 2-0 in the 36th minute with his third goal in as many matches.

Down at the Youth Camp Ground, in Chaguaramas, host Defence Force battled back from going behind early for a 1-1 draw with visiting Real Maracas in a match which saw both clubs end with ten men.

Real Maracas Akeem Joseph was shown a straight red by referee Geoffrey Hospedales in the 75th minute for violent conduct while Defence Force’s David Alleyne quickly followed for an early shower for retaliation.

In the day’s other matches, visitors 1976 Phoenix edged St Francois Nationals 2-1 at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Training Field, Mucurapo while bmobile Joe Public whipped West Side Super Starzs 3-1 at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya with Brent Antoine getting two goals.

MICHAEL-LEE CELESTINE scored a second-half double as WASA hammered Club Sando Giants 4-0 on Wednesday to maintain their three- point lead over 1976 FC Phoenix in the bmobile National Super League.

In a Match Day Three fixture at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella, Celestine found the back of the net in the 70th and 80th minutes, after first-half strikes from Glen Walker (28th) and Darin Lewis (36th). The win was WASA’s third on the trot.

Phoenix, Stokely Vale and Club Sando each have six points, but Phoenix are in second spot due to a superior goal difference.

Phoenix rallied from a goal down to edge St Francois Nationals 2-1 at the Hasely Crawford Stadium’s Training Field in Mucurapo.

Keron Edwards gave St Francois a 13th minute lead before Phoenix responded with strikes from Akim Baynes (20th) and Andel Noray (49th).

Stokely Vale whipped Eagles United 3-1 in Monday’s lone contest, at the Plymouth Recreation Ground. Deon Thomas (14th), Tyrone Manning (33rd) and Keron Phillips (90th) found the back of the net for Stokely Vale, while Bernard McCall got Eagles’ consolation in the 85th.

Joe Public registered their first win of the season, by a 3-1 result over Westside Super Starz at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya.

Brent Antoine struck in the third and ninth minutes for the hosts before Kevon Dove trimmed the deficit in the 24th. But Kheelon Mitchell ensured that Joe Public got full points with their third goal in the 28th.

In Wednesday’s other encounter, Defence Force and Real Maracas battled to a 1-1 draw at the Youth Camp in Chaguaramas. Brian Hinds gave Maracas a first minute lead but Keston Williams equalised in the 35th.
