TYRONE MANNING notched a double as Stokely Vale crushed St Francois Nationals 5-0 on Wednesday, at the Plymouth Recreation Ground, in the quarter-final stage of the Blink bmobile National Super League Knockout competition.

Manning found the back of the net in the 39th and 55th minutes, after strikes from Michael Carrington (13th) and Dominic McDougal (24th). Onasi Forde completed the rout in the 67th.

Also progressing to the last four were Joe Public, who edged Westside Super Starz 3-2 in a hard-fought battle. Brent Antoine put Joe Public ahead in the 14th minute at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya before Marcus Ashton equalised four minutes later.

Jamel Lewis restored Joe Public’s lead in the 66th but Aaron Stewart levelled the scores in the 85th. There was a final twist to the tale, as Ellis Dyett notched the winner in the 88th.

Club Sando eked out a 1-0 win over Defence Force at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella, courtesy of a 36th minute item from Jesse Downing.

The other quarter-final was scheduled to take place yesterday between WASA and 1976 FC Phoenix.

The semi-finals will be staged on August 24, while the losing quarter- finalists will also feature in two games, to determine the fifth and sixth-placed finishers.

Both the fifth and sixth-placed teams in this competition will earn spots in the 2011-2012 Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF) FA Trophy.
