It will be a replay of last year’s boys division final in the Atlantic National Primary School Football League with defending champion taking on Santa Flora Government in the final carded for Friday.
The final will be played at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Mucurapo at 10.30 am, following the girls final which kicks off from 9.30 am.
Yesterday, Renaldo Francois, Ashton Molino and Jean Luc Rochford netted three goals each to guide Arima Boys to a 9-1 victory over Whim Anglican at the Dwight Yorke Stadium in Tobago. Tobago winner’s leading scorer Kellon James got through with a consolation goal for Whim in the 56th minute.
Other finalist, Santa Flora advanced after stopping Carenage Boys, 4-1 on penalty kicks at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva.
Santa Flora took an early lead in the match-up with a goal from Kathon St Hilliare in the sixth. Carenage’s Cyrell Emmanuel equalised in the 41st and the score remained tied 1-1 at the end of regulation and extra time.
Earlier at the same venue, Port of Spain champion St Agnes Anglican School earned its spot in the girls division final, defeating Vance River RC also on penalty kicks, 1-0.
Kaydeen Jack emerged the star of the match, scoring the only goal in the penalty round to seal the win for St Agnes.
Jack also scored for St Agnes in the 14th minute but it was Dennicia Prince’s goal that stood out as she dribbled past four defenders and slipped the ball past the Vance River keeper in the 23rd, to level the scores at one.
St Agnes now awaits the winner of the other girls semifinal set to play this morning at the Dwight Yorke Stadium between Vos Government and Montgomery Government from 1 pm.
On Friday at the finals, Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, Anil Roberts and Minister of Education, Tim Gopeesingh, will be on hand to present awards.
