“Ain’t nobody better than Debe.” This was the chant of the many Debe fans which came out to support their team against Roxborough Secondary yesterday at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella in the Girls Secondary School Football League national semi-final.

Roxborough Secondary will almost certainly take the Secondary Schools Football League Girls Championship Tobago Zone, after slapping four goals past Scarborough Secondary in a 4-0 win last weekend.

Maple Leaf International ended its season on a high, being the only team to evade an assault by North Zone champion, Providence Girls, as the second round of the Girls Secondary Schools Football League came to an end yesterday.

Roxborough Secondary beat Signal Hill Secondary 3-0 yesterday, to eliminate any chance the defending champion may have had of retaining its title in the Tobago Zone of the Girls Secondary Schools Football League.

Debe High, Providence Girls, Toco Secondary and Roxborough Secondary have all earned their berth in the national finals of the Secondary School’s Football League after dominating their respective zones for both rounds of the competition.

The second round of the Secondary Schoolgirl’s Football League kicks off today, but respective zonal winners seem to be more or less decided with only the first round of action completed. In the North Zone, Maple Leaf International and St Joseph’s Convent gave away opportunities to dethrone defending champion, Providence, when both suffered defeats at the feet of the Belmont Girls.

National Under-20 captain, Mariah Shade was obviously not tired after leading T&T to a 5-0 victory over St Lucia on Wednesday night as she returned to her school team, Debe High, yesterday, to score five of its 15 goals against Moruga, in the Girls Secondary Schools Football League.

Roxborough Secondary continued its unbeaten run in the Girls’ Secondary School Football League yesterday, with a 13–0 demolishing of Mason Hall Secondary.
