The sixth TranSouth Athletic Conference men's soccer weekly awards have been announced, and this week the honors are split between Mid-Continent University and Bethel University. Keagan Bacchus of Mid-Continent earns the TranSouth's Offensive Player of the Week nod, while Bethel's Christopher Baker earns the Defensive Player of the Week honor. The honors are the first in each player's respective career, and are given for performances during the week ending October 7, 2012.

After helping the Mercer men's soccer team post its second-straight undefeated week on the pitch, sophomore goalkeeper Greg Ranjitsingh was voted the Atlantic Sun Defensive Player of the Week and garnered a spot on the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week on Monday morning.

For the Mid-Continent University men's soccer team, the first half of the 2012 season has been filled with ups and downs, and with the postseason just a month away, the pressure to reach the .500 mark and qualify for the NCCAA regional tournament is beginning to build. Unfortunately for the Cougars, their playoff chances were dealt a tough blow on Monday afternoon.
